Castles and vineyards rub shoulders in spectacular visual displays in the Loire Valley, which extends to over almost 1000 kilometer from its source in the Massif Central to its estuary at Nantes, and its wines have been loved in France and abroad ever since the 10th Century. The Loire Valley counts approx. 50 appellations and offers the largest diversity of wines in the world. It produces excellent whites and rosés in particular and there really is a perfect Loire wine for every type of aperitif, meal or occasion. 
Like everything taste related, wines are a very personal thing. Occasion, ambience and accompanying food which mark your first tasting of a specific wine play a big role in how you appreciate it, for that exact same wine may hit your taste buds quite differently the next time you drink it in other circumstances. But real wine lovers can always distinguish the good from the mediocre and there are sooo many excellent wines to be found in our area. Reds, rosés, whites, sparkling, half-dry, sweet or liquoreux wines - plenty of the finest flavours to be enjoyed.
