THE STUDIO
Our boutique bed & breakfast accommodation is situated opposite the main house. It is a cosy romantic space under the eaves, accessed by old stone exterior steps and decorated in a fresh contemporary country style, featuring French vintage lighting and furniture as well as handmade curtains and bed linen.
The Studio offers an antique double bed with supremely comfortable deep sprung mattress for blissful sleep, an en-suite shower room and separate WC. There is a water kettle so you can make your own cup of tea or coffee. Bed linen, towels and a hairdryer are provided. During longer stays, bed linen and towels will be changed every 5 days. Of course there is free wifi and on request a baby's cot.

YOUR STAY
We provide a boutique bed and breakfast service and as such do not function in the same way as a hotel does. Neither can or do we offer the same amenities, facilities or 24-hour service.
La Divine is our home, a place of soothing tranquility, which offers the simple pleasures of life in the French countryside. There are no shops or restaurants in Saint Chartres and you will need a car to reach these in the surrounding villages. Instead of chateau chic we offer rural romance and instead of family attractions you will find peaceful rejuvenation. You come here because you seek blissful solitude.
Soak up the sun in the central courtyard garden or retreat under the shady trees with a nice cool drink. We have a selection of books, games and puzzles available. Budding artists may wish to use our easel and drawing pencils, pastels or artist paints and if you'd like to go and explore the valley we have bicycles ready for you. Garden lovers might even like to come and get their hands dirty in the potager and see where all the healthy goodness in our meals comes from.
You are welcome to join us for a lunch or evening meal or we can prepare picnics if you wish to venture out for the day (surcharges apply). Plenty of information about the area will be provided during your stay - you can find some initial details here - and our local visitor information centres are devoted to offering you further assistance.

BY TRAIN
SNCF offer a comfortable, high speed TGV train connection between Paris Montparnasse and Poitiers. Poitiers Train Station also offers various car rentals in its vicinity.

We are located approx. 40km (29 miles) northwest of Poitiers, near the villages of Moncontour and Airvault. Just off the D37 Route de Poitiers, Saint Chartres is well tucked away in the valley but your GPS should find it. Our coordinates are:

HOW TO BOOK

A deposit of 50% of the total room price is required at time of booking, with the balance to be paid no later than 30 days before arrival.
Reservations made within 30 days before arrival are to be paid in full at time of booking. Short notice reservations, made less than 3 days before you arrive, can be paid here with cash. Your reservation is confirmed only once we have received your deposit or full payment.
ARRIVAL & CHECKOUT
On the day of arrival your room will be ready for you from 16h00 (please do call us if you will be arriving any later than 19h00).
On the day of departure, please leave your room by strictly 11h00 at the latest.
Our nearest ATM for cash withdrawals is in Airvault, a 15 minute drive from here.
International guests: please check with your bank whether you are able to withdraw money abroad and if there are any costs involved.
CANCELLATION
You may cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival.
Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival incur a fee of 50% of the total price of your booking.
Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival, or shortened stays, will not be refunded.
We expect all our guests to have full travel and/or cancellation insurance.

"We had marvellous days at La Divine in your comfortable guest room with its artistic ambience and beautiful decoration. It was a real surprise to find this high level of comfort in such an old building. The stylish bathroom, the tea set with the porcelain teacups, the beautiful view when descending the stairs, the leisurely breakfast and delicious home made tapas and Indian curry dishes.
